Job Title: Credentialing Specialist
Location: New York, NY 10004 (On-site)
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $24–$27 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Specialist to support provider credentialing and recredentialing activities for medical staff and allied health professionals. This role ensures compliance with hospital bylaws, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards while maintaining accurate and confidential provider records. The position is performed on-site and plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of credentialing operations.
Coordinate and manage credentialing and recredentialing processes for physicians, allied health professionals, and other applicable clinicians
Perform primary source verification of licensure, education, training, certifications, work history, and malpractice coverage
Track license renewals and ensure all provider credentials remain current, compliant, and active
Maintain accurate provider files, records, and scanned documentation with strong attention to detail
Utilize credentialing software (MDStaff or equivalent) to monitor application status, expirables, and data integrity
Conduct credentialing audits and support quality assurance and compliance initiatives
Prepare and validate documentation for committees, regulatory surveys, and accreditation reviews
Maintain working knowledge of credentialing standards, hospital bylaws, and state and federal regulations
Provide backup support to the credentialing team to ensure continuity of operations
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve documentation issues and ensure timely processing
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive provider information
Bachelor’s degree required
Prior experience in healthcare credentialing strongly preferred
Working knowledge of credentialing policies, regulatory standards, and primary source verification processes
Proficiency with credentialing software systems (MDStaff or similar) and electronic document management tools
Strong organizational, analytical, and auditing skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
