Motor Grader – Heavy Civil Operator
Qualifications: - Must be a self-motivated crew leader and self-starter.

- Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles, team player with strong interpersonal , dedicated and hard working.
- Lead project safety culture.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction documents and direct proper construction techniques ensuring a safe and quality build.
- Must be capable of operating heavy equipment at a rough grade ability level.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
- Must be able to track and manage field production accounts daily.
- Inspect work daily.
- Mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics.
- Move throughout a construction jobsite, which includes minor obstacles, including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting to 50 pounds.
- Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
- Extensive knowledge of operating JOHN DEER & CAT Motor Graders.
- Previous experience with grade control systems.
- Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
- 5 years of experience leading earthwork, wet utility, or concrete crews.
- Willingness to travel.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (Spanish speaking abilities a definite plus).
- Must be self-disciplined, trustworthy, and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Must have a good driving record with minimal infractions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Earthwork professional.
- Fine Grade & Finish Work.
- Make normal adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade and finished cross section of material.
- Responsible for directing and controlling dump trucks to where the material will be placed.
- Drives grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of assisting worker to level surface to specified grade.
- Operate Motor Grader to conduct rough grade work on new site development and roads.
- Operate GPS and Laser Controlled Grading System motor grader.
- Performs rough grade work to close specification control.
- Performs finish grade work to bluetops or other close specification control.
- This work is subject to strict inspection and must conform closely to specifications.
- Perform maintenance work to motor grader including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments to equipment.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Gain the respect of others by being committed, honest, reliable, hardworking, and fair.
- Set up or inspect equipment prior to and after operation.
- Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.
- Other unlisted duties as assigned.
Schedule:
- Mon – Friday 8-12hrs
- Saturdays – as needed
- Extended hours available
- But occasionally up to seven (7) days per week
- Year-round private work!
