The Kilgore College Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) department provides life-long learning opportunities for adults in the community. This is a part time position with instruction times varying depending on the course of instruction. Part time instructor are added to the instructor pool and will instruct on a course by course basis as needed.
The successful applicant will be responsible for instructing short term training in day-time, evening or weekend courses pertaining to obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. The specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: write/review course descriptions and learning outcomes, build/supplement curriculum as needed, provide instruction and ensure all elements of training are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Applicant must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a tanker endorsement and at least five years of truck driving experience. The applicant will preferably possess a minimum of an associate’s degree and have training experience. Applicant must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; have effective presentation and computer skills; be well organized and thorough; be able to work well with little supervision; demonstrate patience, teaching ability and listening and be able to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population.
Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.
All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
