Location : Remote or Hybrid (Bolingbrook, IL)

Must Have:

• Senior level, preferably someone who has been in a lead role
• Must have experience coordinating activities with an offshore team development team
• Power BI and Tableau exp ideal, but definitely Power BI for last 3+ yrs.

Nice to Have:

• Migrating to fabric, so fabric is good to have.

Job Description:

As a Sr Power BI Engineer with experience in Power BI performance tuning, Microsoft Fabric, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and AtScale, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing and performing POC's for the Power BI infrastructure within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Monitoring: Focusing on optimizing report loading times, query efficiency, and overall dataset responsiveness.

Data Model Optimization: Refine Power BI data models, DAX expressions, and relationships to enhance performance, particularly for complex and large datasets.

Data Refresh Tuning: Implement and optimize incremental data refreshes, minimize delays and resource overuse, especially in hybrid cloud environments.

Microsoft Fabric Integration: Leverage Fabric to optimize Power BI for seamless data integration, and improved data movement across different data platforms.

Knowledge Sharing: Share best practices with Power BI developers and users to help them create efficient, high-performance reports leveraging AtScale and GCP datasets.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of strong Power BI experience.
• Extensive experience with a focus on performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly with BigQuery and other cloud-based data services.
• Experience/knowledge with AtScale, integration with Power BI.
• Strong understanding of DAX, data modeling, Power Query, and other Power BI development tools.
• Proven experience in optimizing and scaling Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models for high performance.
• Experience with offshore teams and leading development
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve performance issues across multi-platform environments.
