About the Role

Alex is seeking a Visual Product Designer who will elevate our product's craft, push creative boundaries, and set the bar for visual excellence. This is a hands‑on position requiring exceptional UI and visual design skills, strong conceptualization abilities, communication and presentation skills. With demonstrated mastery in interface design and visual systems, you will drive the success of cutting edge AI products and design systems.

Reporting to the Founding Designer, you will be involved in design at every level – from early concepts to polished interfaces – and work closely with internal teams to ship beautiful work that delights users and strengthens our brand.

The role is based in San Francisco and will be in‑office five days a week.

What You’ll Do

• Lead visual and UI design across products: translating concepts and wireframes into high‑fidelity, polished interfaces
• Collaborate with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success, and Marketing to define product design needs and solve user problems
• Push the visual and interaction design of Alex forward and help maintain its cohesion by designing and documenting systems and style guides
• Elevate our design system through meticulous attention to detail in typography, color, layout, and micro‑interactions
• Operate independently to prioritize multiple assignments, present work to internal stakeholders, and deliver killer creative under deadline
• Champion design quality and craft across the company

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years experience designing interfaces for web or mobile products, with a portfolio that showcases exceptional visual craft
• Strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of UI design, visual systems, and design system creation/management
• Experience transforming complex, configurable systems into elegant, intuitive interfaces that make powerful products feel simple.
• Deep passion and conviction for excellence in design, paired with enthusiasm and openness to feedback and critique. You balance functional execution with bold, creative ideas, eager to push boundaries and take creative risks.
• A team‑first mindset with an eagerness to collaborate with a growing design team; skill in communicating to designers and non‑designers alike. You’re able to effectively articulate your design decisions and what problems you’re solving
• Mastery of Figma and modern design tools; comfort working with design tokens, components, and systematic approaches
• Solid understanding of UX principles and ability to work from wireframes, user flows, or conceptual direction
• Experience in early‑stage or fast‑moving product teams preferred
• Animation and/or motion design skills are a strong plus
• Prototyping and user testing experience is a plus
