Job Overview
Join our team as a Starbucks Barista at FHSU Memorial Union, where you will be the friendly face providing exceptional coffee and food service to students, staff, and visitors. This role offers an engaging environment within a vibrant café setting, emphasizing teamwork, customer satisfaction, and high-quality beverage and food preparation. As a Barista, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring efficient operations during your shift.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using standard recipes and equipment.
• Handle cash register operations including cash handling, cashiering, and POS transactions with accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in accordance with food handling and food safety protocols.
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service to enhance the café experience.
• Manage food preparation tasks such as assembling food items, serving baked goods, and maintaining food presentation standards.
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed during all stages of service to uphold health regulations.
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness.
• Uphold café standards for cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout your shift.

Experience

• Previous barista experience or coffee industry background is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple orders during busy periods.
• Experience in retail math, basic math skills, and cash handling to ensure accurate transactions.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive interactions with diverse customers.
• Knowledge of food safety practices, serving standards, and food preparation techniques within a café or food service environment is desirable. Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour
