Job Description

Qualifications:

An ideal candidate would be a skilled communicator able to primarily work in a self-directed, self-managed manner in-person with other warehouse staff and remotely with the broader PM Press group, who are located elsewhere. The candidate will be expected to maintain a consistent weekly schedule, have great attention to detail, and possess strong organizational skills. The candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word (and/or equivalent software). The candidate should also have the ability to assist with warehouse maintenance (including light carpentry and landscaping work), tabling/vending, and social media management. Familiarity with independent publishing and PM Press are a bonus but are not required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Physical and digital inventory management utilizing computer and software systems to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Actively communicating with PM staff and our distribution partners about stock levels, customer concerns, shipments, damages, and returns
• Data entry
• Pulling, packing, and shipping books for delivery to customers, resellers, and distributors in a timely and precise manner
• Utilizing computer and software systems to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Shipping and receiving pallets of merchandise
• Physical media stocking and maintenance
• Participation in relevant meetings
• Data entry
• Physical and digital inventory management
• Working with and managing volunteers and interns
• Coordinating warehouse improvement projects and events
• Regional stock deliveries as needed
• Tabling at regional events as needed
• Warehouse stocking and maintenance as needed
• Taking on new roles as needed

Requirements include:

• The ability to regularly lift 40+ lb. boxes
• The ability to climb ladders, operate pallet jacks, and maneuver heavy pallets. Pallet jack training will be provided.
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency with computers and learning new software

Work hours, wages, and benefits:

• $42,000 salary per year within an internally equitable pay rate
• Yearly raise
• 40 hours per week plus some nights and weekends as necessary
• 10 days paid vacation per year
• A modest relocation package for applicants needing to relocate to the Binghamton area
