Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electromechanical Engineer to design, integrate and launch robotic End Effectors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in actuator design and integration. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Key job responsibilities
- Author functional requirements, design verification plans and test procedures
- Execute product designs which meet the requirements
- Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
- Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
- Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
- Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies
- 10+ years of experience designing and integrating actuators into robotics systems
- Expert in robotic actuators, including: motors, mechanical transmissions, bearings, encoders, lubrication, environmental seals, etc.
- Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical efficiency, inertia, compliance, etc
- Deep understanding of component capacities and life estimation given highly variable operating trajectories
- Hands on experience building prototypes and debugging subsystems
